Fire on Level Road
Sun. Mar 12th 2017

At 2:23pm, the LPFD was dispatched to a house fire on Level Road in the Collegeville section. Deputy 53 arrived quickly to confirm heavy fire conditions from the third floor and roof. Engine 53 arrived and initiated an exterior attack while Squad 53 established a water supply. Once the bulk of the fire was knocked down, crews entered the house to extinguish the remaining fire. One firefighter was briefly trapped on the third floor after the staircase collapsed, then was removed without incident and was not injured. Crews resumed an exterior attack via Ladder 77 and ground master streams without suitable access to the third floor.

The fire was officially placed under control at 4pm. All occupants, human and animal alike, were safely evacuated from the home with no injuries. Companies cleared the scene shortly after 6pm.
