After a busy 24 hours with heavy rain and wind, an unfortunate Christmas day house fire had LPFD and surrounding companies busy this brisk afternoon. Shortly after 3pm, Lower Providence Fire Department,

Lower Providence Township Police Department, Montgomery County, PA

, and

Lower Providence EMS - Medic 322

along with an Engine from

Black Rock Vol Fire Co.

were dispatched to Pheasant Run Road for a reported fire in an attached garage. Chief 53 arrived and confirmed smoke showing from the garage and eves of a single family dwelling. The working fire dispatch was sounded, bringing units from

Jefferson Fire Company No. 1

,

Norriton Fire Engine Company

,

Norristown Fire Department

,

Collegeville Fire Company

, and

Worcester Volunteer Fire Department

. Engine 53 arrived, laid a supply line, performed a 360, and quickly knocked down the fire in the attached garage. Crews stretched a total of 3 lines, and opened up, searching for hot spots in the garage, house, and attic. The fire was contained to the garage, limiting damage to the rest of the house. The LP Fire Marshal and the RFIT are investigating. Thanks to all who gave up part of their holiday to assist!
