At 0923hrs, the department was dispatched to the eastbound lanes of RT422 at mile marker 190 for a vehicle accident. Initial reports from MCEDS indicated a tow truck that rolled over with two people ejected. Assistant 53 was the first to arrive on scene confirming two subjects ejected with serious injuries. Crews assisted Medics 322 and 317 with patient care, initiated hazard control and established an LZ for PennStar helicopter which transported one of the patients. The bypass was closed in both directions to maintain a safe area for the chopper. Squad53 remained on scene until the truck could be flipped back over. Pennsylvania State Police were on the scene and conducting the investigation for the accident.
