Busy Week Continues for Lower Providence Responders

So far this week LPFD personnel have responded to 15 calls since Sunday, including 4 Structure Fires and 1 Vehicle Fire.

Just shy of 11am today Station 53 along with multiple mutual aid partners responded to a Building Fire in the unit block of S. Park Ave. Initial Reports were smoke coming from a detached garage that is close to the house, possibly from a vehicle inside.

LPEMS Chief 322 (LPFD Deputy 53) arrived and confirmed a detached garage with smoke showing and established command.
Command noted on 360 survey smoke in the garage, with easy access from rear doors and no current exposure concerns.

Engine 53 arrived as the 1st Due Engine and deployed a hose line and quickly extinguished the garage fire. Crews were assisted by Jefferson Fire Company No. 1 Squad 46 who was the 2nd due Engine, Norristown Fire Department Engine 27 as the I-RIT, and Worcester Volunteer Fire Department Ladder 83 as the 1st Due Ladder. Lower Providence Community Center - Ambulance Medic 322-1 stood-by with no reported injuries. Fire Police from Stations 53, 34, 83, and 46 assisted with traffic control.

The remaining units were recalled, Collegeville Fire Company Squad 34 and LPFD Tower 53 covered in service companies from Station 53A with no additional emergencies during that time.
Just after 1pm Station 53 and Collegeville Fire Company Squad 34 were dispatched to a vehicle fire in the 100 block of Level Road. Initial reports were that the incident was called in by a School Bus Driver stating a vehicle was on fire in the area and they saw an occupant getting items out of the car.
BC53 arrived and located a well involved vehicle fire at the entrance to a driveway with no exposures to any buildings. Engine 53 arrived and extinguished the fire. Engine 53, Squad 34, and Tower 53 operated at the scene and were available with out injuries.
